The Twisp Valley Grange will host a candidates’ forum including the three contenders for the office of Okanogan County Sheriff on Monday, June 27, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. There will be a meet-and-greet opportunity at 6 p.m. when the doors open.
The candidates are incumbent Okanogan County Sheriff Tony Hawley, Twisp Police Chief Paul Budrow, and Kevin Newport of Omak, a retired Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office deputy who served 27 years with the department and is currently a sergeant with the Cowlitz Indian Public Safety Department, according to his Facebook page.
Voting begins on July 15 for the Aug. 2 primary. The top two vote-getters in the primary will advance to the November general election.
The grange hall is at 344 W. Second Ave. Refreshments will be provided by the grange. Questions for the candidates can be sent to wendellajb@gmail.com. You can also submit written questions during the forum.
