The Okanogan County Electric Cooperative (OCEC) will conduct its 83rd annual membership meeting virtually on Monday, April 18, starting at 7 p.m.
OCEC members have been sent information about how to access the meeting via the Zoom platform. For additional information, call (509) 996-2228, email info@ocec.coop, or contact the co-op via its website, https://ocec.coop.
Agenda items include:
- an introduction of new General Manager Greg Mendonca.
- an update of the wildfire mitigation plan.
- information on becoming “energy experts.”
- information on securing a clean and reliable power supply.
The co-op membership is also electing two new board members. Ballots were sent out earlier. Current board members John Kirner and Cara Godwin are not seeking re-election. Hoping to replace them are John Rogers, Stephen Ralph and Rick Johnson.
The ballot mailings included biographies of the three candidates. Voters can select two of the three candidates, or offer a write-in candidate. The top two vote-getters will be elected to the OCEC board.
Ballots can be mailed in or returned in person by April 19 at the OCEC offices on West Chewuch Road.
