Salyna Gracie, who was executive director of The Confluence for four years, is returning to the position on an interim basis.
Salyna Gracie is returning, at least temporarily, to familiar territory: She has been named interim executive director of The Confluence: Art in Twisp, while the organization’s board seeks a permanent replacement for the position.
Gracie served as executive director of the recently rebranded gallery (formerly known as Confluence Gallery & Art Center) from 2014-18.
The board is looking for candidates to replace Kaileah Akker, who left the organization recently after being named executive director in March 2021. Akker replaced Sarah Jo Lightner, who is now executive director of Methow Recycles in Twisp. Lightner had been executive director of the gallery since 2018.
“Salyna rejoined our organization this week after several years spent on the west side working in arts administration and creating encaustic mixed media artwork currently represented at several regional galleries as well as her own SoulBird Studio,” Confluence board chair Sam Kollmeyer said in a press release. “Not only having extensive knowledge of the regional art world and a fondness and passion for our organization, Salyna also possesses the administrative and leadership skills to guide us in the coming months.”
