Cove anniversary
The Cove in Twisp, located in the former Riverbank building on Glover Street, will celebrate its 24th anniversary with an open house on April 21 from 1 – 4 p.m., including hot dogs and other treats. The Cove opened its doors as the Methow Valley Food Bank in 1998 and has since expanded to include a variety of programs serving community needs. For more information, visit www.thecovecares.com.
Earth Day Festival
Methow Recycles hosts its first Earth Day Festival, and celebrates 20 years of reducing waste, on Saturday, April 23, from 3 – 8 p.m. at the Doran Ranch near Twisp.
The fundraising event will feature live music from Emily McVicker, Riverside Blues Band, Ken Bevis, slam poetry, dancing, a Repair Café from 4 – 6 p.m., upcycled art, a kids’ parade, many local vendors and more. Saskatoon Kitchens will team up with the Fork food truck to provide delicious food options; a beer tent will feature local beer and wine and a special cocktail.
Tickets are $25; kids 12 and under are free with a paying adult. Tickets can be purchased at brownpapertickets.com or in person at Methow Recycles. All proceeds will go to support Methow Recycles’ programs.

- Beaver loop nature walk with Eric Burr on May 2 from 9 a.m. – noon, starting at the Jack’s trailhead parking lot off of Highway 20.
Summer garden camps
Registration is now open for Classroom in Bloom’s summer garden camps, which will be offered in five four-day sessions in June and July. Most of the camps are for ages 6 – 10 and will be from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. daily. Dates are June 27 – 30 (for 5- to 7-year-olds); July 5 – 8 (Tuesday through Friday); July 11 – 14; July 18 – 21; and July 25 – 28. Cost is $240 per camp; scholarships are available. Little Star Spring Fling
