Novie McCabe trains in Beijing.

Mazama’s 2022 Winter Olympian Novie McCabe will be skiing in the Women’s 4x5km Cross Country Relay Saturday afternoon in the Beijing Olympics, listed for 11:30 pm tonight, Friday, Pacific Standard Time.  The race is scheduled to be broadcast on both USA Network and Peacock Premium.  The news was confirmed Friday morning by mom/coach Laura McCabe, from home in the Methow Valley.

The race consists of four legs.  The first and second legs are in the Classic style of skiing, the third and final legs are Freestyle Skate.  Hailey Swirbul will open with the first leg, Rosie Brennan skis second, McCabe the third leg and Jessie Diggins the fourth.  Diggins is now a multiple Olympic medal winner, having won the gold in the 2018 Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, and taking bronze earlier these games in the Women’s Sprint.
