Nancy Morris Tribolet

January 26, 2022 by Methow Valley News

Nancy Morris Tribolet

Nancy Morris Tribolet passed away at The Golden Age Retirement Home in Bellevue on Jan. 2, 2022, at the age of 79. She was born on June 5, 1942, at the Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Illinois, and was raised with her brother Charlie outside Chicago in Wheaton, Illinois, by Edward and Frances Morris.

Nancy is survived by her three children and their spouses: Brian and Nancy Tribolet of Bellevue, Doug and Julie Tribolet of Kirkland, and Sarah and Dan Zielinski of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Nancy is also survived by four grandchildren: Jack, Nicole, John and Robert.

Nancy attended Stephens College and the University of Arizona. Upon graduation she married John (Jack) N. Tribolet on May 29, 1965, at The Most Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Phoenix, Arizona. Nancy and Jack lived in Tucson, Arizona, for a short time then moved to Corona del Mar, California, where Brian and Doug were born. In 1972 they left the city and moved to the Rocky Mountain town of Aspen, Colorado, where they owned the Hobby Shop and Sarah was born. In 1980 the family became active community members of Winthrop where the kids completed school. Her husband Jack passed away in 1995, and after 38 years Nancy moved to Woodland Terrace in Bothell in 2018.

Nancy was a loving mother and will be remembered for her homemade jams, delicious cooking, golfing on ladies’ day, volunteering at the library, working at the school as a para-educator, dinners with her friends from OPEC (“old people exercise class”), snow-blowing her driveway, and activity nights at Woodland Terrace.

Nancy was tough and independent, loved her family, always up for cross-country skiing or biking, and enjoyed spending time with friends. We miss Nancy, mom and grandma very much. We take comfort knowing she is now at peace and reunited with her husband Jack.

We will gather to celebrate and remember Nancy at her home in Winthrop late spring 2022. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a contribution to Friends of the Winthrop Library or Aero Methow Rescue Service.
