What type of development do you want in your neighborhood? How close should houses be? What kinds of business activities are desirable – or unacceptable?
Specific regulations like these are set out in Okanogan County’s zoning code. The zoning code applies the principles and visions from the comprehensive plan on the parcel level. It can include special provisions depending on neighborhood preferences.
Now that the county commissioners have adopted a new comp plan, the county’s Planning Department is starting on the update of the zoning code. They are soliciting input from the public to help identify and prioritize which sections of the code to update first.
