A burst pipe flooded one of the two buildings at Jamie’s Place Friday morning.
What was first reported to 911 dispatchers as a collapsed roof at one of the two buildings at Jamie’s Place in Winthrop luckily turned out to be much less serious, though the building was flooded by the incident.
The incident was reported at about 11:30 a.m. Friday. Staff on scene reported the building’s sprinkler system apparently froze and burst, leaked water through one of the rooms’ ceilings and flooded the building with approximately an inch of water.
Fire, EMT and electricity crews arrived and began working to clear the building of water. No injuries were reported.
Jamie’s Place Adult Family home is the Methow Valley’s only residential senior care facility. The two buildings each have room for six seniors.
