Comp plan, EIS out for comment

Okanogan County has released the latest draft of its comprehensive plan and environmental impact statement (EIS) for public review and comment.

The plan, EIS and maps are on the Planning Department website at https://www.okanogancounty.org/government/planning/index. Go to “Projects & Plans” in the blue bar at the left, then click on “Comprehensive Plan Update.” The documents are in the gray bar at the bottom of the page.

The list of documents includes special plans for the Methow Valley for reference. They haven’t been updated yet.

The planning commission will hold a public hearing on the plan on Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. Written comments on the plan are due by noon on Nov. 29. People can provide verbal comments at the hearing, which will be conducted remotely.

Comments on the EIS are due Dec. 10. The planning commission will hold a meeting to consider comments on Dec. 27. The county commissioners are set to adopt the plan on Dec. 29.
