Two Methow Valley girls, Nella Belcher, left, 13, and Camille Roman, 11 competed in the United States Pony Club (USPC) Inland Empire Region Qualifying Show Jump Rally at Appleatchee in Wenatchee last weekend. Riders from across Central and Eastern Washington competed to qualify for the Western Regional Championship to be held next year. Roman earned a ribbon for her participation in the competition, which included three rounds of jumping, equitation, horse and stable management. Belcher represented the North Cascades Pony Club based at the Bear Creek Equestrian Facility in Winthrop. Her team placed third in horse management and individually she placed third in the 18-inch cross rail competition.
