Board of Equalization
Okanogan County is seeking one (1) regular member to serve on the county’s Board of Equalization. (BOE) The applicant shall reside in Okanogan County and will represent Commissioner District #1 in the Omak/Okanogan area.
Okanogan County is also seeking one (1) At-Large member who fills-in for a regular member when a regular member is not able to attend scheduled hearings. The applicant shall reside in Okanogan County in the areas of Omak, Okanogan, Tonasket, Oroville or Grand Coulee and shall serve on the board in the same capacity as regular members during their absence.
The purpose of the BOE is to adjust and equalize the valuation of real and personal property as valued by the Okanogan County Assessor and to hear appeals on land use classification decisions made by the Assessor. The BOE assures uniform property tax assessments are applied at the local level and may review tax assessments to be certain the assessment for each parcel is fair.
In Okanogan County, the BOE is authorized a three-member board with two at-large positions. The Board of County Commissioners is responsible for appointing members to the BOE. Appeal hearings begin in July and wrap up as late as September with only three to four hearings dates scheduled in that timeframe. Mileage compensation reimbursement per the state’s personal vehicle mileage schedule is allowed plus $75 per attended meeting/training day. New members must attend Department of Revenue Educational Sessions within one-year of appointment. This training is usually scheduled in June.

The Project includes construction of the Screw Press Dewatering Addition, and Lift Station No.2 Improvement’s. Major elements of work generally include:
Schedule A: Biosolids Dewatering
The work generally consists of the following elements:
- Construction of an approximate 1150 sf cmu and/or wood frame addition to the existing dewatering building for biosolids storage. Addition includes under slab piping, and electrical improvements
- Removal of existing dewatering equipment including associated pumps, piping, concrete supports, electrical and controls
- Installation of new Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) mechanical dewatering equipment package – OFCI equipment package includes mechanical dewatering equipment, shaftless screw conveyors, polymer mix and injection system, and electrical and controls panels. Installation includes some exposed and below slab piping modification
- Removal of existing polymer injection system and associated piping and controls.
- Replacing existing non-potable water piping, and installation of vfd for existing pumps, reinstallation of existing chemical injection pumps, new flow pacing flow meters, controls and appurtenances.
Schedule B: Lift Station No.2 Improvements
The work generally consists of the following elements:
- Temporary bypass pumping of wastewater for the duration of construction
- Abandon and demolish an existing underground generator structure including salvage of existing equipment
- Removal of existing electrical panels and equipment, pumps, piping and valves from an existing underground drywell pump structure, including salvage of existing equipment
- Installation of new pump system, equipment, piping and valves inside an existing underground drywell pump structure
- Associated electrical improvements and backup generator.
- Construction of an approximate 345 sf masonry and wood frame structure to house the pump station electrical power and control panels, water supply and emergency standby generator
- Site improvements including replacement of existing chain link fence, double leaf gate, storm drainage drywell and swale, site grading, hydroseeding and gravel surfacing

The District will elect one member to the Board of Directors to serve in Position 3 for a three (3) year term commencing January 4, 2022.
