“Mr. Bones,” hailed as “COVID-safe” because he’s outfitted with a mask and gloves, was one of the treasures students at the Independent Learning Center scored in a series of trades starting with a mere paper clip. The students showed off their swaps, including a clock mounted on a slice of a tree, an open sign with flashing lights, and a multi-part hunting outfit for a dog, as part of orientation week.
