Rink’s summer session extended
The Winthrop Rink, whose summer schedule had originally been expected to end this month, has extended its operations through July 31. A project to replace the rink’s dasher boards had been scheduled to start last week, but the contractor indicated that work would not start until August, so the rink can remain open for roller skating and pickleball. The rink was awarded $141,648 by the state Recreation and Conservation Office to replace the perimeter dasher boards and safety glass at the facility.
