Obituary: Elinore Kent Drake

July 14, 2021 by Methow Valley News

Elinore Kent Drake

Elinore FloyAnn Kent Drake, 88, of Winthrop,  passed away in her home on July 5, 2021. She was born to Floyd and Anna (Read) Kent on Feb. 20, 1933, in Winthrop.

Elinore truly loved the valley and was proud to have attended grades 1-12 in the Winthrop School. She retired from the Farmers State Bank in 1989 after 23 years of service. She was also quite involved in the community, volunteering at the Shafer Museum for 20-plus years; the Chamber of Commerce, working at the Visitor Information Center in Winthrop for several years; the Okanogan County Historical Society — even being Pioneer of the Year in 2002; the Winthrop Barn, helping to organize many Winthrop All School Reunions; and the American Legion Auxiliary, to name a few.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Don, and two sisters, Doris McConnell and Joan Meyer. She is survived by her son, Gordon (Daphane Maxon) Drake of Anchor Point, Alaska; her daughter, Susan (Duffy) Dufresne of Winthrop; her sisters Nancy Kamstra and Judy Polk and brother Read Kent; four granddaughters, Caley Anna (Mike) Drake, Rebecca (Eric) Pierce, Kristin Drake and Hillary Dufresne; and greatgrandchildren Nikole, Peyton, Hunter, Parker, Tanner, Cooper and Timber. Services to be announced.
