Disregard for community
Dear Editor:
A few days ago I was walking into the Carlton post office when I looked down and noticed a cigarette butt which was still smoldering on the concrete inches from the dry grass. I was shocked and angered. Carlton is not a tourist destination so it seems reasonable the culprit is a local. Another woman was just behind me and she shared my concern as did the post office clerk.
Who would do such a thing? Have we not, as a society, had enough serious issues facing us? COVID, record heat and drought in addition to social unrest? I hope this person sees this and changes their ways. If not, any citizen who observes this disregard for our community says something load and clear.

Thanks for the AC
Dear Editor:
In times of need, this community comes together in a beautiful way. Jamie’s Place is humbled by the tremendous outpouring of support towards our fundraising goal for air conditioning. From monetary donations, to Dave Fisher of Fisher Refrigeration and Pat Norwil Electric making room in their busy schedules to install so quickly! Thanks to our generous community, air conditioning has been installed at Jamie’s Place — community support in action! Our residents are comfortable and thankfully, breathing filtered air.
On behalf of the residents of Jamie’s Place, We are truly grateful for the generosity of our community.
