Two people received non-life threatening injuries and were transported to Three Rivers Hospital in Brewster Thursday morning after a two-vehicle T-bone collision in Mazama.
The crash was reported at 9:40 a.m. Thursday on Highway 20 at Lost River Road. Two vehicles were attempting to turn from Lost River Road left onto Highway 20 toward Winthrop. The first vehicle successfully entered traffic, but the second apparently followed the first vehicle without stopping and was hit by oncoming traffic, Winthrop Marshal Doug Johnson told the Methow Valley News.
The road was partially blocked for more than an hour. Johnson noted that the airbags and safety features in the modern vehicles involved kept the collision from being more serious.
