Shafer hosts ‘Celebration of History’

The Shafer Historical Museum in Winthrop will host a “Celebration of History” from 3-5 p.m. on June 27, including dedication of a new workshop building acknowledging contributions by the museum’s Rusty Metal Gang volunteers, and its construction and maintenance helpers.

The free event will include old time music, children’s activities, demonstrations of how things were done in the past, and guided tours providing information about exhibits at the museum.

“Lost Homeland” author Richard Hart will sign his book about the Methow tribe’s contribution to Valley history. The Museum’s other Methow Valley books are available for purchase.

The event schedule is:

• 3-3:30 p.m., exploring.
