Candidates file this week for local offices

May 19, 2021 by Methow Valley News

It’s candidate filing week in Washington state, and more than a dozen elected offices of local interest will be on the ballot in November.

Filing may be done online, by mail or in person at the Okanogan County Auditor’s office until 4:30 p.m. Friday (May 21). Applicable fees must be paid at the time.

There will be a special three-day filing period, from May 26-28, for non-partisan offices for which no one filed during the regular filing period. A list will appear at the end of the regular filing period.

For more information on what positions are open, filing fees, and any other questions contact the Elections Department at (509) 422-7240 email elections@co.okanogan.wa.us, or visit https://okanogancounty.org/offices/auditor/elections/candidate_information.php. The Auditor’s Office is at 149 N. Third Ave. in Okanogan.

Following are local positions that will be open, the length of the term to be filled, and the incumbents that now hold the offices. All are nonpartisan except the County Prosecutor race.

Nonpartisan offices for which more than two candidates filed will appear on the Aug. 3 Primary Election ballot. All partisan Offices will appear on the Primary Election Ballot.
