Fundraiser scheduled for Sunday at Homestream Park for Young Warrior’s Society

A free presentation and fundraiser for the Young Warriors Society is scheduled to take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 25 at Homestream Park in Winthrop. 

The event includes presentations by Methow Tribal descendant Mark Miller, Wenatchi Tribal descended Arthur Cleveland, Colville Tribal member/Nez Perce Dan Nanamkin, White 

Earth Anishinaabe tribal descendent Sarah Cedars and others. The event will also include Native music, dancing and a fundraiser. 

The Young Warrior Society is an educational organization for children intended to promote and maintain Native culture and tradition.

Parking is available at the Spring Creek Ranch Trailhead. Masks and social distancing are required. Attendees can also bring a chair, food and a beverage if desired. 

The event will be followed by a presentation at 5 p.m. at the Methow Valley Interpretive Center at the TwispWorks campus by Nanamkin on Land Acknowledgement.
