People in the lower valley soon won’t have to burn fuel just to fill their tank, with new gas pumps at the Carlton Store expected to be installed in the near future.
The tanks passed the state inspection and pressure test, and workers are installing new pumps now, said Scott Edson, who will take ownership of the Carlton Store when all the paperwork for transferring title to him is completed.
Edson wants to focus first on fuel sales. “It’s a community asset — that’s the reason I jumped into this,” he said, adding that he’ll turn his attention to the store later this year.
The pumps will accept credit cards, so they’ll be available 24 hours a day and the store won’t need to be open for people to purchase fuel, Edson said.
