To boost “critically low” blood supplies, Mid-Valley Hospital & Clinic in Omak will host a blood drive on March 23, from 10 a.m.-1:45 p.m. at Mid-Valley Clinic.
“Due to COVID-19, blood supply has drastically reduced and is running critically low. This is why hosting a blood drive now is more important than ever,” said Richard Morales, director of marketing and public relations at Mid-Valley Hospital.
The blood drive is being conducted in partnership with Vitalant Blood Donation, and will take place inside a Vitalant mobile unit (bus) stationed outside of Mid-Valley Clinic at 529 Jasmine St. in Omak.
Appointment slots are available, and donors can either register online at mvhealth.org/blood-drive or by calling (509) 861-2500.
Social distancing will be enforced at all times, the hospital said. People who are feeling well and free of illness symptoms (including fever) will be eligible to donate. All potential blood donors will be screened for COVID-19-related symptoms.
