NCW Libraries has again closed its 30 branches, including those in Twisp and Winthrop, for in-person visits as of last Wednesday (Jan. 20), to conform with updated state guidelines related to coronavirus protocols.
NCW Libraries will continue to offer and expand curbside pickup hours at all libraries, continue operating its mail-order library, and continue all virtual services and programs.
“Keeping our communities safe and healthy is vitally important,” said NCW Libraries Executive Director Barbara Walters in a press release. “While I am disappointed at this closure, I am thankful that we can continue to serve our communities by expanding our curbside hours, providing continued access to wireless internet, and continuing our virtual programs and services.”
Updated state guidelines prohibit in-person library service until a designated region reaches Phase 2 under the state’s Healthy Washington-Roadmap to Recovery plan. All regions in the state remain in Phase 1.
