Manger Mall, Neighbors Helping Neighbors programs gearing up

November 4, 2020 by Methow Valley News

The traditional Methow Valley Manger Mall and Neighbors Helping Neighbors programs will be back this year, providing holiday cheer to residents up and down the valley.

Both events take place in December prior to the holidays. Registration forms will be available through the Methow Valley School District, at The Cove in Twisp (during regular food bank hours on Thursdays, 1-4 p.m.) and electronically via email.

Registration for the Manger Mall will be earlier than in years past and will have a cut-off date of Nov. 24. Email methowvalleymangermall@gmail.com to request a registration form or for more information call (206) 949-5297.

The Manger Mall offers an opportunity for the primary parent/guardian to shop for gifts specific to their child(ren)’s unique interest. Manger Mall collects donations of new, unwrapped gifts, with a suggested value of $20 to $25. Gifts for children ages infant to 18 can be delivered to the Mazama Store, Ulrich’s Pharmacy, North Cascades National Bank, Mick & Miki’s Red Cedar Bar, Winthrop Store, Trail’s End Bookstore and Winthrop Physical Therapy & Fitness through Nov. 30. Trail’s End Bookstore will again offer a 10% discount on books purchased for the Manger Mall.

Questions about holiday food baskets can be directed to thecovecares@gmail.com, or call 996-4343. Just prior to Christmas, holiday food baskets will be packed, with all the fixings, and delivered to those who have registered.

More information about how to sign up for the holiday food baskets that are distributed to valley residents, and how to donate, will be available soon.
