Catherine Marie Olson, 70, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020. Catherine was born in Fort Worth, Texas, to Cecil Varley Lybarger Jr. and Elnora Martina Hill. Catherine and her family moved to Washington state when she was 3 years old. She grew up in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle and Edmonds, Washington, where she attended Edmonds High School, class of 1967.
Catherine married Terry Lon Olson of Seattle and had two children, Erik Nils Olson and Laura Marie Olson. She supported the family at home before returning to the workforce in numerous administrative roles in Seattle and the Methow Valley. She and Terry moved to Twisp in 1993 where they lived on Balky Hill for many years before Catherine moved to her final home on Riverside Avenue in Twisp.
Catherine is survived by her father Cecil and brother Tom, both of Gold Bar; her son Erik of Twisp; her daughter Laura and her granddaughter Jemma, both of Seattle. There will be a memorial service for Catherine at her home in Twisp at 1008 Riverside Ave. on Saturday (Oct. 17) at 2 p.m. The service will be held outdoors and masks will be provided if needed.
