Lola Lee (Rawdon) Cheek, 86, passed away on Sept. 16, 2020, at Regency Nursing Center in Omak, Washington.
She was born on Jan. 16, 1934, to Clarence and Anne Rawdon in Twisp. Lola attended school in Winthrop and graduated from high school in Seattle. She met her husband, James A. “Al” Cheek, in Seattle and together they raised three sons. In the early 1960s, they moved to Lola’s hometown of Winthrop, then to Twisp where she was a homemaker. She loved to do needlework and read. She always had a book with her. Lola loved to go camping whether it was up the Chewuch or Conconully at Jack’s Trailer Park. Lola and Al spent a few summers there.
Lola is survived by her sons Nick (Shauna) Cheek of Gresham, Oregon; Jim (Pat) Cheek of Omak; and Steve Cheek of Twisp; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her granddaughter Amy McCater, and great-granddaughter Jessica Whitman.
Lola was a longtime Methow Valley resident and loved the valley. Services will be held in the spring of 2021.
