Okanogan County Long Term Recovery Group, the Okanogan County Department of Emergency Management and NW Management Inc. will present a series of virtual meetings on the Community Wildfire Protection Plan starting next Tuesday (Sept. 15). The free sessions are open to the public and will be on the Zoom platform. It’s also possible to dial in and listen over your phone.
Two meetings on Tuesday, from 1:30-3 p.m. and from 7-8:30 p.m., will focus on the west side of the county. Two meetings on Wednesday (Sept. 16), from 1:30-3 p.m. from 7-8:30 p.m., will focus on the east side of the county.
The county’s Wildfire Protection Plan, last modified in 2013 before the major fires of 2014 and 2015, is now being updated and the public’s input is desired.
