Lower Methow Zoning Map Amendment
Notice of Threshold SEPA Determination and Hearing
Project Summary
The Planning Department has submitted a SEPA checklist for the adoption of a zoning map amendment of the Lower Methow. Analysis of the existing and potential lots in the Lower Methow River Reach of Water Resource Inventory Area 48 raises concerns that the number of undeveloped lots may exceed the water in the reserve appropriated by WAC 173-548. The amendment changes the zoning from R1 to R5 in the Lower Methow Reach outside the Columbia River influence.
The SEPA Responsible Official has reviewed the Environmental Checklist and project description and has issued a Threshold Determination of Non-Significance (DNS) on this proposal in accordance with WAC 197-11-340. All comments will be reviewed for relevance, and if necessary the DNS will be changed. If no comments are received or the comments received do not provide probable, significant, and adverse impacts from the proposal the DNS will stand.
Comments for SEPA threshold must be submitted in writing to the Okanogan County Office of Planning & Development, 123 5th Ave North, Suite 130, Okanogan, WA 98840, no later than September 16, 2020.
A public hearing has been scheduled with the Okanogan County Regional Planning Commission to give interested parties the opportunity to provide verbal testimony. The public hearing will be conducted on September 28, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. over webex platform. Written comments may be submitted at the hearing or prior to the hearing at the email and address listed above.
