Neil Christian Rasmussen, 81, of Winthrop, passed away in Wenatchee on June 9, 2020.
Neil was born on July 7, 1938, in San Diego, California, to Carl and Margaret Rasmussen.
He married his high school sweetheart, Ellen Sligar, in 1959. As an adamant deer hunter and fisherman, he made many trips up to the Winthrop area.
He and Ellen turned their hunting cabin into a permanent residence in Winthrop about 20 years ago and have lived there ever since.
Neil is survived by his wife, Ellen, and four children: Kevin, wife Christine; Kurtis, wife Penny; Kent; and a daughter, Kristina Jensen married to Darrin Jensen. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Twisp.
Neil is leaving lots of hunting buddies behind, but as a family, we are sure he will be doing all he can to scare those nice big bucks down the hills this hunting season.
A private family service will be held in his memory.
