On May 14, 2020, Michael North passed away. Mike, as he was known to most everyone, with the bigger than life attitude, has jetted on to his new journey. Whether driving semi-trucks, tending to circus animals, or his last endeavor “Guber Clutter Removal” service, Mike always had something brewing up there. He had a way of drawing folks to him. With a very vivid imagination and a penchant for making money, he also had an extremely generous nature. If you needed a couple of bucks, he’d give you his last. Easy come, easy go. No problem with Mike.
Being a nature lover, he was always tripping around in the woods, picking flowers with Mom, looking for wildlife, and discovering any road he could. Speaking of roads, Mike drove all over the United States, coast to coast. He was never without a story to go along with the area. Usually, his audience would be wiping tears of laughter from their faces or jaws dropped wondering, really?? A colorful life would be an understatement. One thing you could depend on with Mike, he was real. He’d tell it like it was. Just like telling a nurse she was a p.c. bitch (politically correct) after she said he was rude. Mike was downhome, old-fashioned, yet totally hip.
Loved by young and old alike. All animals loved Mike. He will be sorely missed, though never forgotten! Born May 28, 1956, in Roseburg, Oregon, he was just shy of his 64th birthday when called to home. The last 14 years of his life he spent here in the Methow and loved it, family loved it too! All blessed to have known, really known, Mike are at a loss.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Audrey North, Brother Bob (Bud), sister Julie Hammer and special niece Angie Breed. Mike is survived by eldest brother Tom (Jennifer), sister Jeanie (Steve), brother Ralph (Bonnie), nephews Colbey Breed, James (Tonya) Hammer, Jud (Licette) Hammer, Joe (Heidi) Hammer, Daniel North, Andrew (Vanita) North. Nieces Kendall Hammer, Amber Mizel, Alicia (Russell) DeGoud, Daisy (Tim) Willard, Allison (Jim) Scharbough, Cherese North, and Lacey (Eric) North. Local cousins Sabina (Paul) Darwood, Wes, Mark, and Beth, too! Many, many friends all over the States. Special mention — close friend Tina Stanley. No services will be held at this time. Donations can be given to The Cove in Twisp.
