The Pateros Brewster Long Term Recovery Organization (PBLTRO) and the Pateros Brewster Community Resource Center (PBCRC) have partnered with the Economic Alliance to offer emergency assistance to small businesses and local families in the Pateros and Brewster communities.
The joint effort, called the Pateros-Brewster Pandemic Assistance Project, provides monetary grants to businesses and gift cards to families for basic necessities. The two programs, Pateros Brewster Small Business COVID Emergency Grants and Give A Gift Card Program are supported through generous donations from the community.
Small businesses in Pateros and Brewster can apply online for COVID emergency grants in the amount of $1,500 at http://www.paterosresource.com/pandemic-assistance-project. The application process is accessed by clicking on the Economic Alliance’s “apply now” link. A panel of local volunteers from each community will review applications for approval.
Businesses can apply through the end of June. New applications will be reviewed every two weeks, and donated funds will be distributed every two weeks through the month of June. PBLTRO donated $1,500 in seed money to the Economic Alliance Small Business Emergency Grant program. The donation is earmarked to support the Pateros and Brewster communities. PBLTRO formed a committee of local volunteers to solicit and distribute program funds to assist local businesses.
The Pateros-Brewster Pandemic Assistance Project is also hosting the “Give A Gift Card” program. Gift cards will be provided to individuals and families impacted by COVID-19. The purpose is to help local businesses with a small cash infusion while assisting community members and families to purchase basic necessities.
The PBCRC is offering “survival kits” with the gift cards. The kits include masks, toiletries and COVID information. To secure a gift card for someone with an essential need, contact Jord Wilson of PBLTRO at (509) 449-9670, or Gene Dowers of PBCRC at (509) 449-9028. The Pateros/Brewster Community Resource Center is located at 169 Pateros Mall, Suite A, in Pateros.
The program is seeking donations to help businesses and families “survive and thrive.” Businesses can donate gift cards, while donors can contribute dollars or stimulus funds. To make a monetary donation, access the “Donate” link on the PBCRC Pandemic Assistance Project webpage, ww.paterosresource.com/pandemic-assistance-project. Donors may also contact Dowers. Donors should note if the funds are intended for the “Gift Cards” or “Emergency Grant” program. Donations are tax-deductible; 100% of donated funds go towards the Give A Gift Card Program or the Pateros-Brewster Small Business COVID Emergency Grants.
