Nettie “Claudine” Boggess went home to be with her Lord on March 4, 2020, surrounded by her daughter and grandchildren.
Claudine was born to Joseph and Maybell Farmer on July 28, 1931, in Hazelhurst, Mississippi. Her family moved to Fontana, California, in 1942, to find work in wartime steel production. In later years, Claudine spent many years working for the Fontana School District. Claudine moved to Twisp in 1997 to be closer to her daughter, Deborah Mead.
She enjoyed working in her garden and just being outside, working puzzles, sewing, crocheting, reading her Bible, visiting family and especially enjoying her many grandchildren.
Claudine was preceded in death by her parents, 14 siblings, husband, son and great-granddaughter.
Claudine is survived by her daughter Deborah Mead and stepson Don Wallis, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
At Claudine’s request, there will be no local services. There will be a gravesite service at a later date in Mississippi, where she will be laid to rest in her family’s plot.
A special thanks to Hospice for all their help and support. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite cancer-fighting charity.
