Contrary to early-week rumors, Winthrop Kiwanis will host its 26th annual Bite of the Methow fundraiser on Saturday (March 14) at the Winthrop Barn as scheduled.
Bite organizers said on Tuesday (March 10) that a variety of precautions will be taken to mitigate concerns about the coronavirus, and tickets will be refunded to those who choose not to attend. Staff or volunteers who are feeling ill will not attend the event.
Tickets are $20 in advance and can be purchased from any Kiwanis member, at Windermere Real Estate in Twisp, or at The Tenderfoot in Winthrop; online at winthropkiwanis.org; or call 996-3991. Tickets will be $25 at the door.
Doors open at 4 p.m. and serving begins at 5 p.m. The event includes a silent auction and live auction, both featuring donated items from local businesses, organizations and individuals.
The Bite is the Winthrop Kiwanis’ biggest fundraiser of the year. Proceeds benefit a host of local programs and organizations, including an annual “Fund a Dream” project.
