Loup Alpine Team hosts successful Wolf Chase

The Loup Loup Alpine Team welcomed young skiers from throughout the region last weekend.

The Loup Loup Alpine Ski Team hosted the annual Wolf Chase Ski Race last weekend at the Loup Loup Ski Bowl, featuring more than 140 racers ages 7-14 representing Alpental, Stevens Pass, Mission Ridge, 49 Degrees North and Mt. Baker.

Racers competed in two Giant Slalom races on Ridge Run on a firm surface both days, excellent conditions for the race. Winners of the Wolf Chase overall titles were Logan Grosdidier from Mission Ridge Ski Team and Jamison Oleksy from Stevens Pass Alpine Club.

Feb. 8

U8 women’s giant slalom — Ella Gann 1st, Mabel Grayum 5th; U10 Elaine Walker 9th; U12 Nella Belcher 11th; U14 Greta Schumacher 11th.

U8 men’s giant slalom — Gabriel Boesel 5th, Oliver Nelson 6th; U10 Lyric Ashford 3rd, Wyatt Schumacher 12th; U12 Josef Gann 10th; U14 Damon Alumbaugh 2nd.

Feb. 9

U8 women’s grand slalom — Ella Gann 3rd, Mabel Grayum 5th; U10 Elaine Walker 9th; U12 Nella Belcher 11th; U14 Greta Schumacher 13th.

U8 men’s giant slalom — Gabriel Boesel 3rd, Oliver Nelson 4th; U10 Lyric Ashford 6th, Wyatt Schumacher 12th; U12 Josef Gann 9th.
