The Merc Playhouse has announced its center stage productions for the 2020 season, beginning with “Breaking Legs,” which opens on Friday (Jan. 10).
Other shows on the upcoming schedule:
• “The Fantastic Mr. Fox,” a presentation of the Tom Zbyszewski Children’s Theater, runs March 20-29. The play is based on Roald Dahl’s popular story and will be directed by Jane Orme.
• “Lungs,” written by Duncan Mcmillan and directed by Mark Easton, runs Sept. 25-Oct. 4.
• “The Nutcracker,” which will include Tchaikovsky’s traditional music and original choreography, runs Dec. 4-13. It will be directed by Jane Orme and Missi Smith.
In addition, three Readers’ Theater productions will be presented this summer. The lineup will be announced soon.
The Merc will also host the Liberty Bell High School Drama Club’s production of the musical “Mama Mia!” in May.
Season tickets for reserved seating at the four center stage productions are $72. Friend of The Merc season tickets, available with a minimum donation of $300, are $60.
Individual show ticket prices this year are $18 for adult general admission if purchased online, or $20 for adult reserved seats. Online prices for youth are $5 for general admission and $7 for reserved seats. At the door, tickets are $20 for adult general admission and $5 for youth general admission. Readers’ Theater tickets are $10 at the door, free for youth.
