The Liberty Bell High School girls’ basketball team lost its first league game on Friday (Dec. 20), although the Lady Lions stayed close in a 50-45 loss at Brewster.
Sophomore Jadyn Mitchell notched another double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Junior Sammy Curtis lead the Lady Lions’ scoring with 13 points, and senior Ali Palm was also in double figures with 12 points and added 7 rebounds. Senior Tommie Ochoa grabbed 8 rebounds, handed out 6 assists and had 4 steals. Senior Hannah Bakke had 8 rebounds, and junior Madi Surface added 6 points and 5 steals.
Last year, Liberty Bell and Brewster split two regular-season games.
Liberty Bell is now 2-1 in league play, 3-2 overall.
A road game at Manson scheduled for Friday (Dec. 20) was postponed because weather conditions made travel problematic. Games start at 1:30 p.m. on Friday and at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to the Methow Valley School District website.
