Jadyn Mitchell went for a kill against Waterville/Mansfield in Brewster.
It wasn’t the playoff experience the Liberty Bell volleyball squad was hoping for.
A loss to Waterville/Mansfield on Nov. 5 in the third-place match at districts sent the Lady Lions to Wenatchee on Thursday (Nov. 7) to play Walla Walla Valley Academy, the No. 2 seed out of the 2B Eastern Washington Athletic Conference.
The Lady Knights from the Seventh-day Adventist prep school won, 3-0, in a match that sent the winner to the state tournament this weekend in Yakima. The loss ended Liberty Bell’s season.
The playoff losses came as a disappointment after a strong regular season. Liberty Bell finished 7-1 in league, 11-4 overall after missing the postseason a year ago.
“Our goal each year is to improve our record, and we made our first goal, to make it to districts but missed our second goal, of making it to state, by one game,” coach Christine Scott said.
“All in all, we did have an amazing season,” Scott said.
