
Margaret Darlene (Winters) Hill was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on Oct. 23, 2019. She was born May 4, 1931, in Watson, Oklahoma, to Leonard and Bessie (Evans) Winters. She had two brothers and one sister.
Margaret married C.H. Smith in 1950 in Idabel, Oklahoma. In July of 1951, Margaret moved out to Lakeside (Chelan), Washington, and later moved to Twisp in 1957. In July 1963 she married Sylvester “Bill” Hill in Chelan, Washington, acquiring one stepson, Martin L. (Caryl) of Spokane. And then together having one son, Billy L. (Tammy) Hill of Twisp. Her other children include Larry (Diana) of Twisp, Debra of Edmonds, and Jerry (Carol) of Moses Lake. Margaret and Bill enjoyed a long life together on their ranch on the site of the old town known as Silver. They raised cattle and hay.
Margaret in later life did a lot of caregiving for people. She was a hard worker with a strong character, always looking at the good side of things and loved country music, dancing and her dog Precious.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill Hill, her mother, father, brother, and sister.
Margaret is survived by her five children, Marty, Larry, Debbie, Jerry and Billy and their families. She also has 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and one sister-in-law, Ginger.
Please join the family for her service, on Saturday (Nov. 2), 2019 at the Cascade Bible Church, located at 1119 South Methow Valley Highway in Twisp at 1 p.m. Graveside service will be following at approximately 2 p.m. Potluck following after service back at the church. Any memorials can be made in Margaret’s name to the Cascade Bible Church or Methow Valley Community Center.
