Methow Valley Riding Unlimited’s (MVRU) “Juleps & Jodhpurs” fundraiser and celebration of the organization’s 25th anniversary was a big success last Saturday (Oct. 12) at Moccasin Lake Ranch. “We exceeded our goal ($25,000) both in fun and funds,” said Annie Budiselich, MVRU program director. Funds will be used for building capacity for next 25 years, both in staffing and finances, Budiselich said. The first step of a five-year strategic plan will include hiring MVRU’s first executive director. Attendees enjoyed tailgate-style food, mint juleps, carriage rides with Claude Miller, cross-country croquet, a quadrille (choreographed musical dressage ride of four) demonstration by MVRU riders, and dancing to the Bitterroot Beets.
