Who made Mother Nature mad? This is crazy weather. Guess we had the Winter Sale just in time for people to get some warm clothes and snow boots. The sale will continue.
What happened to summer? I am not ready for snow — have to get moved. We need a nice Indian summer in October.
The Senior Center is located next to the Methow Valley Community Center on Highway 20 in Twisp. Lunch is served at noon by the Okanogan County Transportation and Nutrition Program on Monday, Thursday and Friday. The suggested donation for lunch is $4 for seniors over age 60; the cost is $8.50 for those under 60. Annual membership dues are $1.25.
The senior center’s Rummage Room is open Monday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. During Farmer’s Market season, it is also open on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Transportation is available locally for the senior lunch program, and for monthly trips to Omak/Okanogan the second Tuesday of the month and to Wenatchee the third Tuesday of the month. Call 1-800-635-4391 for additional details.
THURSDAY, OCT. 3: Tater tot casserole, carrot raisin salad, chilled peaches, whole wheat bread or roll, dessert.
FRIDAY, OCT. 4: Chicken fajitas, Spanish rice, fresh salsa, Mandarin oranges, dessert.
MONDAY, OCT. 7: Beef stroganoff, peas and carrots, tossed green salad, mixed berries, whole wheat roll, dessert.
THURSDAY, OCT. 10: Honey mustard chicken, wild rice, Brussels sprouts, cucumber and tomato salad, apple wedges, whole wheat roll, dessert.
FRIDAY, OCT. 11: Lemon-baked fish, rosemary potatoes, Caribbean vegetables, coleslaw, peaches, cornbread, dessert.
