Confluence Poets will celebrate their fifth anniversary on Oct. 9 at Confluence Gallery, Twisp. The free event begins at 7 p.m. Featured local poets will include Subhaga Crystal Bacon, Ryan Brennan, Vick Douxmont, Cindy Williams Gutierrez, Christine Kendall and Greg Wright. Confluence Poets came together following a poetry workshop at the gallery and have been meeting twice a month since to critique one another’s work and plan poetry events. The poets stage programs throughout the year; traditionally celebrating April’s Poetry Month with a reading the public is invited to participate in.
Other members are Kelleigh McMillan, Sam (Eileen) Owen, Shannon Huffman Polson, Julianne Seeman and Hannah Viano.
Viano will launch of a poetry collection of 10 postcards, which can be mailed or framed. The collection includes original artwork printed by Robin Doggett on an antique letterpress. Cost of the 5-by-7-inch card set is $20 at the event.
