Rick Raymond Krupke, age 58, passed away Tuesday, March 19, in Spokane.
Rick was born to Harold and Helen Krupke on June 26, 1960.
He was a foreman for the 35 years he worked for the Reardon Grain Growers.
Rick enjoyed boating, fishing, gathering firewood, hunting, target practicing, home summer back deck barbecues, playing basketball, watching the state basketball tournament, playing in and watching Hoopfest, and watching his Seahawks, Zags, and lots of sci-fi.
Rick spent a lot of time from the late 1970s through the 2010s in both the Methow Valley and Spokane playing for the local Darwood’s Inc. basketball and softball teams in recreational town team tournaments with close friends Scott Darwood, Ray Ellis, John Ellis, Mike Hull and Mike Boesel.
Rick also enjoyed camping up the Chewuch above Winthrop with the Bud and Mae Darwood, and the Jack and Catherine Shaw extended families; hunting with the Darwood family near Carlton up Texas, French, Libby and McFarland creeks; and vacationing often in the Methow Valley with his own family for weddings, rodeos and local holidays with his friend Scott’s family, and the Larry and Heidi Walsh family. Through the years, Rick made and maintained many long-lasting friendships with lots of the Methow Valley locals he encountered on his numerous treks to the Methow from his home in Spokane.
Rick was a loving father, friend, son and brother. He is survived by his children Devin and Nicole; his mother Helen; his brother Gene; and his sisters Susan, Lynn, Jan and Theresa. He was preceded in death by his father Harold. A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 6, at the Reardan United Methodist Church.
