Notice of Public Hearing
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Twisp Planning Commission will hold an open record public hearing at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 11, 2019 at Twisp Town Hall. The purpose of the hearing is to take testimony and on revisions to draft amendments to Title 18 Zoning previously submitted to the Town Council for adoption. The revised amendments are intended to address concerns set forth by the Town Council as a result of public input. A copy of the revised amendments is available for review on the Town’s website and at Town Hall.
All interested persons are invited to attend and be heard. Those requiring assistance are requested to contact Town Hall a minimum of 24 hours prior to the scheduled hearing to notify the Town of the type of assistance required. Persons wishing to view the proposed amendments may contact Twisp Town Hall, 118 S. Glover Street between the hours of 9:00 am until 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday. Notice of Application and Threshold SEPA Determination
CUP 2019-7 Miller Pit, P4-27
Notice is hereby given that an application has been submitted by Okanogan Public Works to permit surface mining for a gravel pit on property owned by Claude Miller in accordance with Okanogan County Code 17A.220.010. The CUP, if approved, would allow 148.66 acres, over three parcels, to be used for screening, crushing, cold mix asphalt batching, blasting, and stockpiling. Mining will not exceed a depth of 60 feet. The hours of operation will be 6:00am to 8:00pm with the exception of every 4-5 years when crushing activity will operate 24 hours for 5-10 weeks. The project site will use water from an existing permit exempt well for dust abatement. Okanogan County Public Works will be paving the intersection of Hwy 153 and Danzl Rd. and approximately 275 of the private road for dust abatement as well. The site is located at 1175 Hwy 153 Methow, WA 98834 and covers parcels 3123310006, 3023064004, and 3022011005.
The SEPA Responsible Official has issued a Threshold Mitigated Determination of Non-Significance (MDNS) on this proposal in accordance with WAC 197-11-350. SEPA comments regarding this threshold determination may be submitted in writing by 5:00 pm September 12, 2019. The public hearing for this project has not yet been set. Notice of Okanogan County Comprehensive Plan DEIS Comment Period Extension
Notice is hereby given that the Okanogan County Office of Planning and Community Development has issued a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) which discusses environmental impacts of the proposed revisions to the 2014 Okanogan County Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan proposal has been prepared in accordance with RCW 36.70 Planning Enabling Act, RCW 36.70A Growth Management Act, and other applicable case law and requirements. The Comprehensive Plan contains policies that inform other land use regulation in all unincorporated areas of the county. The proposed revisions to the comprehensive plan consider the medium range of population increase prepared by the OFM which projects that the population will increase by 2891 people (revised) by the year 2040. The revised comprehensive plan includes three alternative policy approaches for dealing with the projected population increase. The draft environmental impact statement considers a 4th alternative suggested during the scoping period.
The SEPA Responsible Official has reviewed submitted comments and has determined an extended comment period is warranted. The notice for the DEIS was published on July 17th and 18th , 2019. The deadline for submitting comments regarding the DEIS is extended to 5:00 pm, September 19, 2019. Date of publishing is August 28th and 29th, 2019.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Okanogan County Central Landfill, Ellisforde Transfer Station, Bridgeport Transfer Station, and Twisp Transfer Station will be closed on Saturday, August 31, 2019 in observance of Labor Day Holiday. They will all be open on regular schedules Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

James Garrick is proposing to expand an existing mini storage area by adding 4 new buildings, one 40’ x 100’ one 50’ x 96’ and two 45’ x99’. There are two existing mini storage buildings at the location one 50’ x 96’ and one 40’ x 100’. The total size of the area is five acres.
