The Methow Valley Chamber Music Festival presents four “outreach” concerts this month, performed by the Seattle Cello Academy. The group was formed by the festival’s artistic director, Kevin Krentz, and his wife, Haeyoon Shin Krentz.
The students who make up the Seattle Cello Academy have won multiple performance awards in state and regional competitions this spring. They will be attending a cello camp in the Methow Valley during July, perfecting their technical and performance skills.
The free performances are:
• July 24 at the Shafer Museum, Winthrop, 5 p.m.
• July 25 at the Methow Valley Ciderhouse, Winthrop, 5 p.m.
• July 26 at the Mazama Store, 5 p.m.
• July 27 at the Methow Valley United Methodist Church on Highway 20 between Twisp and Winthrop, 1 p.m. At this performance, each student from the academy will perform a solo work as part of the closing recital for their week-long cello camp.
