There was no excuse not to be somewhere in the Methow Valley over the Memorial Day weekend. Kids, critters and cowboys enlivened the Methow Valley Rodeo despite periods of rain. The Big Shaabang at TwispWorks wasn’t so fortunate weather-wise, but still saw a healthy turnout. The World-Famous Mazama Pancake Breakfast fed hundreds of hungry visitors and participants in the Mazama Fun Runs, augmenting pancakes with eggs, ham, blueberries and watermelon — which sometimes took the form of tiny animals.
