Celebrating 80 and beyond

Mary Bean, right, who at 104 is the oldest person living in the valley, posed with her daughter Jo Doyle, 85. They are the only mother-daughter duo in the valley both over 80 years old.
Lola Cheek, 85, of Twisp, pointed out friends on photos from previous over-80 parties while talking to her caregiver, Jennifer Mattson of Methow.
People 80 and older who attended the over-80 party on Friday (May 17) at the Methow Valley Senior Center posed for their annual photo.
Dick Rohde, one of the oldest men in the valley at 87, talked with other attendees at the over-80 party.
Charlene Dennis was the youngest member of the over-80 club.  She had her 80th birthday on May 16.
