
Kelly Edwards has been hired as associate director at Room One, the nonprofit social services agency in Twisp.
Edwards will support programming through Room One’s One-Stop Support Center in Twisp and its Okanogan Healthy Youth programs across the county, and will work closely with staff on program development, communications, advocacy and strategic direction, according to a Room One press release.
Edwards has worked at the University of Washington for the past 25 years in a range of capacities, including as faculty in bioethics, ethics of medicine, and public health; adviser to the National Cancer Institute; and director of community engagement for a UW environmental health center. Most recently, Edwards supported UW graduate students from across all fields to flourish and do their best work
Edwards is a fourth-generation eastern Washingtonian. Her mother and partner live near Winthrop (Karen Edwards and Tom Ise); and her husband, Ken Libby, is fourth-generation Methow Valley resident.
