A property owner on Gold Creek has submitted an application to Okanogan County to change a single-family residence to an overnight transient accommodation (nightly rental).
Gary and Marie Storrs’ property is in the rural shoreline environment on the Methow River on Gold Creek Loop Road.
The Storrses have applied for a shoreline substantial development permit to use an existing structure attached to their garage as accommodations for guests, according to Angela Hubbard with the Okanogan County Planning Department. The structure won’t be altered to become a nightly rental.
The property also has a two-story house built in 1973, which the owners would continue to use, said Hubbard.
Officials with the Okanogan County Planning Department have determined that the change of use is exempt from the State Environmental Policy Act because the building won’t be altered.
People can comment on the application, participate in hearings, and request a copy of the decision once made, by contacting Hubbard at ahubbard@co.okanogan.wa.us. Comments are due April 26.
