Methow Trails is sponsoring a film fest in December and is inviting entries.
The best films from among those submitted will be screened at the Methow Trails 2019 winter membership meeting at The Barnyard Cinema in Winthrop.
The winning filmmaker will receive a prize of two Methow Trails annual passes. All finalists will also receive a Methow Trails “goody bag” with gifts from sponsors.
According to Methow Trails, the films should “capture the special nature of the Methow Valley” and “explore the sensations, connections and feelings that are evoked on the trails, peaks and rivers of the Methow.”
“We are looking for films that are compelling, inspiring, and tell a story that explores the connection between people, nature, and community in the Methow Valley. Cinematography and editing are important, but you don’t need to be a professional to enter,” according to the Methow Trails website.
Submitted films should be no more than 6 minutes long, and filming should be done in an around the Methow Valley. Deadline for submissions is Nov. 1. Films can be submitted to email@example.com as a link to a Vimeo, YouTube or similar format. For more information and to find a submission form, visit www.methowtrails.org/methow-trails-film-fest.
The judging panel will include Methow Trails staff and board members and at least one local film expert.
