Liberty Bell High School senior Owen Hevly and sophomore Lucaas Gonzalez-Ortega have earned honorable mention recognition on the Central Washington 2B boys’ All-League basketball team. Gonzalez-Ortega was the team’s leading scorer in the recently completed season.
At the team’s recent awards banquet, Hevly and senior Simon Studen won the Coaches’ Award. Other awards:
• Most Improved — Magnus Treise
• Most Inspirational — Shay Crandall
• Defensive Player of the Year — Lucaas Gonzalez-Ortega
• Junior varsity MVP — Magnus Treise
• Most Valuable Player — Dusty Patterson
Also, both the junior varsity and the varsity teams were recognized by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association with I the Distinguished Scholastic Award for achieving a 3.0 to 3.49 grade point average while participating in interscholastic activities.
