Attendees hit their stride on the dance floor at the annual Senior Appreciation Dinner. Complete with a meal, music and dancing, cowboy poetry, and raffle prizes for almost everyone, the event is a beloved annual tradition that just keeps growing, said Jimmy Gariano, manager at Hank’s Harvest Foods, who inaugurated the dinner and dance more than 30 years ago. “Hank just turns me loose on it,” he said.

This year, the dinner attracted generosity from across the valley. More than 70 businesses and organizations contributed raffle prizes worth more than $7,000, and Hank’s donated the food.

Terry Lee Hardesty, who assembles top musicians for the event, calls the senior dance “the funnest thing they do,” said Gariano.
